Hearing of the very special plans for my birthday this year...a week long celebration.....I am so excited.

My birthdays have been sucky to say the least since my partner died in 2009...and I pretty much gave up on celebrating any more...until now...now the day will be amazing....thanks to someone very special........

Aww... the joys of Customer Service Management...

Preface... I spoke to this couple twice today and this was the second conversation. If only all customers were like these two... 70+ year old retired couple... living in Las Vegas Baby!

Mr. is calling me back after I've explained to them that the issue wasn't our fault. So, Mr.'s saying (jokingly) that in order for him and his wife (on the other line) to remain customers ... some arm wrestling or poker would be required!

Me: *Blah blah blah* ... the customer's always right!

Him: That'd be strip poker.

Me: *laugh out loud* Okay ... well... before go down that road ... I'd need to take a look at you and you'd need to take a look at me!

Him: *laughs out loud and I can hear his wife laughing too*

Him: And... I need you to apologize for me to your Rep... what was his name... Bob ... I feel bad... I was pretty rude and said "This was bulls*t."

Me: Well, I appreciate that ... but ... we don't accept apologies from our customers... so ... I guess you two will have to play some poker.

Him/Her: *laughing on the other end of the phone*

Him: Oh no no... I only swing one way!

Me: Well... now ... that's what makes it a punishment.

Him/Her: *laughing on the other end of the phone*

This made me smile... and laugh... today! :)

I live in an area that has trains running all.the.time. I can plan so carefully and yet, get stopped by a train.

Today, there were two! I smiled when I remembered I used to think the first car over the track, their tires would pop, cause the tracks were so hot. My Dad must have started that with us, as kids.

Yesterday

A coworker I get to work with a couple times a year stopped by to give me the specs on her next project. We work so well together. She has a reputation for being difficult, but she's not. She just knows what she wants.

What took us 15 minutes can sometimes take an hour with other people. I told her I'd deliver a mock up by Friday, but I'll have something ready for her this morning. I love it when I work with people who know what they want. Keeps a smile on my face.

Knowing that my sixteen year old niece will be receiving her birthday present later this afternoon. I bought her a cute Starbucks cup, makeup brushes, one of her favorite hair brushes and a Florida Starbucks gift card. She now lives in Texas and really enjoys it.

Isn't it great shopping for nieces, I have a greatniece (my nephew's girl) and she keeps me young at heart!

Zimmeh 07-20-2017 07:45 AM

Yes it is and I will be paying for her plane ticket to visit us for Christmas.
I took her and my ten year old niece to Epcot in June for their birthdays and it was cute watching them shop for Disney pins.

Group texting with my fabulous nieces. One was sending photos on how she could see the smoke when that Hawaiian condo was on fire. She was up just as high, but at least 5 big buildings away. My other one was sharing details about her world global project she was working on in the Dominican Replubic. The pictures were awesome. I just love those two wonderful young women!

Calif. firefighters rescue nearly dead dog, bring him back to life

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A California fire department says a little white dog named Jack is recovering after firefighters rescued him from a burning home and brought him back to life.

In a video posted to the Bakersfield Fire Department's website that has been widely shared online, firefighter Matt Smith is shown carrying the nearly lifeless shih tzu from the house on Wednesday.

Using a pet oxygen mask donated to the department by a local Girl Scout troop, Smith and his partners slowly bring Jack back to life.

By the end of the video, Jack is sitting up, alert and looking around, though panting heavily. He was then reunited with his worried owners, a married couple who were unharmed by the fire.

"He's my family, he's my guy, he waits for me every night when I come home," said owner Jeff Garnett to CBS affiliate KBAK. " He's going to be fine, we're going to be fine too, I couldn't be more grateful of appreciative for what they've gone."

My three-nager jumping in bed wearing a silly hat that she found.
Followed by a big score with breakfast!
We were finally able to pick enough strawberries for pancakes and they were just as amazing as she had been expecting.

I win at mom-ing today! Woo!
