FESTIVALS AND EVENTS
I'm putting this in with hobbies because for some people going to festivals and other annual events is a hobby. I came up with this because usually I find out about these when it is to late to make arrangements.
Let's share the annual festivals and events going on in or near your area or that you've been to. Include location and typical date ie 3rd friday in September or Labor Day weekend. Also include what we might expect once we get there. Ease of access, drive thru, walk thru, handicap friendly, kid/pet friendly. Or post a link and we can find all this info there perhaps. |
Memorial Day weekend there is the annual Iris festival in Sumter, SC. It is at a place called Swan Lake and is sponsored by the local AARP. The event and the park have great reviews. You can of course vist the park any other time and is a great place for viewing birds and flowers.
The Iris festival has food, craft and other vendors. |
