I know most of you will be envious of my dickie, it is charming. Now, I did wear my dickie properly and you could touch it using the secret handshake.

Seriously, My dickie. My friend. RIP 1978.

I picked up a big box of records at a garage sale, both 45's am 36's,though they are old they still play really good. They also had a record player that has a 45 unit so I can play them plus a 8 track player along with a casett player.I'm working on it so it works better as the old speaker is shot and the casett player sticks. The records cost me $5.00 the player I dug out of the trash cost 0...not bad at all.

I remember making these

When I was a kid we used to break off bits of still warm road tar to chew. We survived. I guess even road tar was purer then.

Now I know why we did it.

Friendship barrettes for your hair...circa 1980. I loved making them when I was 6 or 7. :) They bring back so many memories.

I actually had this exact car, color with T tops. Yes, i was coooooooool, or so i thought. On my way to school i had to pick up like 48 people in my cool car. But, alas, we would come sliding into a school parking spot in the mornings with Pat Benatar or ACDC playing so loud in my 8 track that our teeth would chatter. Albeit, my speakers in the back were the size of Montana. It was all fun and games until the transmission blew to the sky.

Her name was Bobbie btw. Ahhhh memories.

A. Spectre 01-17-2015 05:05 PM

Yep, yep, blue jean cut-offs. Levi's button down or zipper.

The sad thing is I wore something very similar to these doing beach activities today. Had some looks thrown my way, do I care? Meh...

Huey Lewis did say It is hip to be square! But square is coming 'round full circle, right?

Album Cover Artwork

I love good album cover art and Blue Note was a favorite of mine. They set the standard by treating type as a graphic element. And, there was always the liner notes. No more.

MacGyver! He could make anything with a paper clip, ball point pen and a stalk of bamboo. I know, I know. Suspended belief. Hah! A physics teacher friend and I would have humorous conversations about how all of it was so ridiculous and fantastical. Still watched the show from time to time.

My parents bought me a Ford Fiesta for my 16th birthday, man I thought I was the cats pajamas. It was a 4 speed transmission and I only killed it a couple of times initially at intersections. She barely went past 60 mph and looking under the hood, the 25 hamsters did a good job running the car.....

You know what I miss? toys that had the potential to take an eye out. lol. Seems everything is rounded or filed down these days, what fun is it if there is no potential for a scrape or a cut?

They no longer sell yard darts, cuz by gosh! someone could get hurt! The metal jacks? Nope. Now, they are made of plastic, spaghetti noodles or something soft and safe. ;)
