Chili sounds delicious! I think I will make some tomorrow in the Instapot. I'm thinking cornbread to go with it.

It’s going to be niceish today; 50 degrees supposedly. I’m taking the pups to work with me and afterwards we will go walking at the Biltmore estate. Then I’ll pick up dinner from my favorite restaurant before we head home. And THEN I’m off for two whole days and they better not even call me to fill in!!

It has warmed up here too. I can't wait to get back to the beach!

I’m planning several trips for the approaching spring and summer…

Helen, Ga for a day/weekend trip, Gatlinburg with my daughter and grandkiddos, possibly Myrtle Beach as well… Nashville at some point as well…..

We're going to Helen and Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge too this year, with a stop by Dollywood!!! As for the beach, we'll be heading to Panama City Beach.

Hoping to feel better soon. In hospital for a week with Norovirus. Bad shape still. Very exhaused, still nauseated so food is of little interest but fluids are a must. My brother came to bring me things and he is now sick at home alone. I read that 70 people on a cruise ship came down with it in two days out of over 200 folks on that ship. Highly contageous and not a good virus.

Oh this sounds awful. I hope you're getting good care and that you and your brother both feel better soon.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Norovirus is miserable. I hope you and your brother get well soon.

Feeling better would be good to look forward to. Still nausea etc. with this namm Norovirus. Can't eat, have litle or no appetite. Living on water and crackers. Please take care as this thing is gone wild here and is so very easy to catch with no prevention but masks and hands.

The day these people are prosecuted for damaging our country will be the day our country survives their coup to take over our country.

Meeting up with an old friend for a late lunch tomorrow. I can't wait! Also, this pub has on draft a Belgian Sour Tripel Ale fruited with raspberries that I can't wait to try!

It's finally starting to warm up. The storm we had last weekend left 2-3 inches of ice on everything and then the temps stayed between 4-20 degrees all week so there wan't enough salt in the world to melt the ice. The next week is all between 30-45 degrees which means, not only will the ice melt, but I can get outside for walks again. Everyone has been so cooped up. That on top of the political tyranny, everything just has been feeling dismal and ominous.

I'm looking forward to my first home grown tomato sandwich of the summer. I know they're a ways off yet, but they have been on my mind lately. I have yet to decide if I will be growing the tomatoes myself - something I have not been very successful at in the past as my yard doesn't get enough sun, although every few years I try again anyway.

I’m looking forward to a day off on Sunday. I’ve been working way too much…

Getting my kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets and walls painted.

These are the colors I'm going with:

• Bath Cabinets: 9182, Rojo Marron
• Bath Wall/Ceiling: 0045, Antiquarian Brown
• Bath Doors: 6352, Soft Apricot
• Bath Trim: 6006, Black Bean

• This is the Kitchen Cabinet color: 6790, Adriatic Sea

The primer and first coat has been added to the bathroom walls, trim and ceiling and I'm diggin' it. Second coat will go on today and then next are the cabinets.

This and this are the styles/colors I wanted for the bathroom. I want it dark, warm, inviting.

I could have lived with the wall paper that was in the bathroom but it was 20 years old and was coming apart at the seems. Was time for an update.

Getting well! COVID ain't no joke this time around.

Tomorrow is supposed to be cold and raining and I don't have to work. I'm very much looking forward to taking the day to work on my house, work on my cards for our craft swap, and snuggling with my visiting little dog man.

Update: On today's agenda is having the kitchen cabinets painted brown instead of blue.

The bathroom looks great. I smile each time I go in there, but the blue in the kitchen didn't work at all.

My wonderful painter painted one kitchen cabinet blue so I could see if I liked it. I didn't and I had overnight to come up with a new color. That's damn near impossible for me. I like sitting on colors for days or longer before deciding. At the last minute I took a chance and asked for the brown paint I used on the bathroom cabinets

Lucky me. The brown works well and brings a warmth to the kitchen. The blue was glaring and stark. It almost looked comical.

Glad for the changes in today's agenda.

I'm looking forward to the Braves actually winning a baseball game this year. Right now we have the worst ranking (zero) in American baseball, as we have won no games yet and lost seven. I can't wait to see them win one.

Shopping for the boy's Easter basket and coloring Easter eggs - I get to enjoy all the sweets vicariously, and enjoy the deviled eggs for real.

Looking forward to a weekend alone. The boy is going to spend the weekend with his nerdy D & D friends, so Brittany and I get the whole house to ourselves. We can listen to music as loud as we like and I can use all the hot water! Plus we will probably roll around on the floor in the hallway and play some fun doggy and person games. (The hallway is the only place I can easily get up from the floor because it's where the top of the stairs is.)

I thought it was going to be a sunny day today and I was going to be focused on yard work. However, early evening yesterday I learned it's going to be cold and rainy pretty much all day. So I'm going to have to spend the day inside, listening to music, enjoying the Pollo Guisado I slow cooked last night, puttering, crafting, and reading. Tragic!

I’m looking forward to more Asheville nights now that the weather is so nice.

Last nights drum circle was a reminder that I need to do more things that make me happy. I’ve been in a work/ home improvement vortex for too long!

I’m looking forward to our federal agencies being restored so that when hurricane season and stormy weather returns unannounced or the next health emergency comes around, then people can count on our agencies to respond to dire human issues that won’t go away with the stroke of a sharpie.

Looking forward to the boy coming home from his nerdy D & D weekend so I can hear how everybody is doing. Also, so we can watch baseball together and color Easter eggs.

Looking forward to a trip to the city tomorrow. Getting fitted for undergarments by Mimi. They say she's the GOAT in my neck of the woods and that's just what I need.

It's been 10 or so years since I've been properly fitted, so it's overdue and well deserved.

After his D & D weekend, the boy was home for the rest of the week on vacation, during which he was mostly crabby and followed me around the house seeking attention. It was like living with a cat. So now I am looking forward to some alone time while he goes back to work.

Getting my first mountain climb of 2025 tomorrow. A little bit of a late start but not too bad. My climbing buddy and I always open season with a particular mountain. I'm excited to see her and get to the top!

Meeting home improvement guy tomorrow and going over my bathroom to install grab bars!
