Amazon Prime Original Series and Netflix Original Series

Hey, guys. I really enjoy watching the original series on these sites. However, it is good to know if something is worth it before I pick it.

This is the place to ask others if certain series are good and to share the ones you love!

DapperButch 05-23-2017 08:39 PM

I am ready to start a new original series on either Amazon or Netflix. I seem to prefer the Amazon series to the Netflix ones.

Has anyone seen Hand of God (on Amazon)? What did you think of it?

Other series you recommend?

I just saw the two seasons of Fortitude. I would rate it as a B. Worth watching.

Have you seen Goliath with Billy Bob Thornton? It's really good.

Bosch, based on Harry Bosch book series-I have liked all 3 seasons.

The series based on the Phillip K. Dick story, Man in the High Castle. Very well-done.

If you want comedy, Catastrophe is truly funny. I binged 3 seasons in a weekend. Of course, the seasons were only 6 episodes each. :)

I am sure you probably have already watched Transparent, the Golden Globe winner.

I tried Sneaky Pete with Giovanni Ribisi but I could not get into it. It had good reviews.

Those come to mind.

I have plowed on through most of it.

I love how beautifully it is filmed. I love the diversity of the cast and I love all of the filming locales around the world.

All of that being said: half the time, I don't understand or get what the hell is going on.

I understand that they share a consciousness (or something) but I really just lose the train of thought or process way too frequently. It ceases to be enjoyable for me each time I say WTF is happening now?

It was cancelled but I read that pornhub or xhamster offered to do another season but there is no word on Netflix responding in any way...

LaDivina 10-01-2017 06:39 PM

They're doing a 2-hour special to wrap things up. There are also a lot of people trying to fight for a 3rd season, but the shooting was just so expensive.

I also loved how beautiful it was!

Mindhunter

Not easy to watch, if listening to Ed Kemper or Richard Speck would be difficult for you, it might be tough to watch.

That said, it is really, really, well done.

It is the story of the beginning of the Behavioral Science unit at the FBI.

10 episodes.

This is timely Anya because i am going to house sit the first week.of November, and I am adding this to my list of shows to watch!

I also looked into the back story on the series and discovered that's it's based loosely off the book of the same name, written by John Douglas, whose career was as an behaviour analyst (profiler) with the FBI.

Here's an interesting article as well, which talks a bit about the show, too. The article actually covers how behavior analysts arrive at identifying psycho/sociopaths. Very interesting reading.

Godless

A very enjoyable western series on Netflix.

I just read Netflix may greenlight season 2.

I hope that it does:

Frank Griffin, an outlaw terrorizing the 1880s American West, hunts down Roy Goode, his partner turned enemy. Roy hides out at a ranch as Frank's chase leads him to La Belle, New Mexico - a town made up entirely of women.:thud:

DapperButch 11-23-2017 02:11 PM

The series Trapped on Amazon. Holy crap it is good!

Kätzchen 11-24-2017 08:56 PM

Oh hey, Anya, I know it's not Netflix, but your recent post about an Netflix series getting the Green light for a second season reminds me that I recently read about Big Little Lies on HBO getting ready to film season 2!

Next fall,,,,,,,, I can hardly wait!!! :cheer:
