We had pizza and it made me sick. My piece must have been laced with salmonella.

Jesse 07-10-2015 01:12 AM

Smoked pulled pork, cole slaw and greens. Good stuff! :)

CherryWine 07-10-2015 05:47 PM

Pho Nam with lots of spicy chili sauce

PaPa 07-10-2015 07:12 PM

Tonight's dinner was very quick: A ham and swiss cheese sandwich with mustard and some freshly diced cantaloupe.

stargazingboi 07-10-2015 07:25 PM

grill cheese and chips

cinnamongrrl 07-10-2015 09:57 PM

Ooops... I skipped dinner...which explains why half a beer made me tipsy

Oh so beer. Beer was dinner tonight. hey...it's protein!

Redux of this. It was still good although I left the pickles in the oven a teensy weensy bit too long and they were crunchy crunchy.

I still have slaw and corn left too.

cinnamongrrl 07-11-2015 07:31 AM

I'm thinking leftover eggplant parm since I barely touched it the other night for dinner...

I also have some beautiful zucchini and summer squash from the farmer's market to cook up...and a gorgeous PURPLE PEPPER!

God I love summer veggies :)

PS: I had a dream about making okra and tomatoes. I've never cooked okra in my life! Maybe I need to change that. The farmer's market had some pretty okra...and awesome maters...I'm thinking okra/mater stew with lentils and spices would be nice!

cinnamongrrl 07-11-2015 07:48 AM

While perusing for okra/tomato stew recipes I found THIS. I'm thinking it will be dinner tomorrow night!

This looks absolutely amazing! Look at that glaze.

BBQ Night

We are entertaining guests from out of town tonight, so my sweetheart is smoking salmon steaks and beef ribs, then BBQ-ing them closer to supper time.

I prepared a baby spring leaf green salad and homemade creamy, cracked pepper garlic salad dressing.

I am also making Zucchini Boats (yummy!):

What you do is trim and halve large zucchini squash, then carefully scoop out the soft midsection of seeds. Then carefully dice up baby Crimini mushrooms and fill each zucchini boat with the diced mushrooms. Then spoon your favorite tomato-basil sauce over the mushrooms and sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese over each prepared zucchini boat.

You can bake them in the oven for about 20 minutes, until they are done. Or, like I do for a BBQ, I put them on the top part of the grill, on heavy foil, and close the grill to BBQ them for about the same amount of time (approx. 20 minutes).

:bouquet:

Gemme 07-11-2015 05:21 PM

So far I've had some mixed fresh fruit, cheese and sweet and spicy chipotle crackers, a teensy mini apple pie (about 3-inch circumference) and am about to find something a little more substantial like the leftover slaw and corn from last night.

I'm just not into meat tonight.

Rockinonahigh 07-11-2015 06:13 PM

I had a tuna sandwich with a pickle, to hot to cook.

cricket26 07-11-2015 06:44 PM

ONLY 07-11-2015 07:00 PM

I KNOW! And it's saucy enough to serve with noodles or the like. I love anything I can make in the slow cooker. Chicken comes out sooo juicy and tender that way... :)

cinnamongrrl 07-11-2015 07:33 PM

oops I came here to post...lol

I had some eggplant parm for lunch but it's too darn hot to cook so I'm having yogurt with the yummy cashew/ginger granola that I adore from TJs...oh and some fresh blueberries on top cuz I got a ton of them at the farmer's market :)

PaPa 07-11-2015 09:27 PM

Dinner tonight was open faced toasted ham and swiss sandwiches

Jesse 07-11-2015 10:11 PM

In case you are looking for different ways to prepare okra, it is super good roasted. :)

Still hot and humid, not much in the mood for food. I fixed a garden salad with lettuce, tomatoes, sliced boiled eggs, and shredded carrots and have been snacking on that.

JDeere 07-11-2015 11:10 PM

Friday night was brisket, potato salad, beans and a big ice cold glass of sweet tea.

Saturday was hot dogs and hamburgers, late lunch semi dinner.

~SweetCheeks~ 07-11-2015 11:36 PM

Tonight was a salad blend of spinach and spring mix, with small shrimp and little steak, avocado and tomato. YUMMY

Chad 07-12-2015 02:48 PM

Dinner

Hi,

I am having a homemade cheese burger with all the fixings and steak fries. Ice tea to drink.

Chad

PaPa 07-12-2015 03:33 PM

I cooked red cabbage, turkey kielbasa, potatoes, onions, and some apples together. Sure tasted good. I just bought the produce except for the apples at the Amish produce stand on Friday.

CherryWine 07-12-2015 05:00 PM

We're having tomato sandwiches on toast with mayo, salt & pepper. Roasted eggplant and fresh strawberries and mango on the side.

This sounds good. I don't know what I'm having. I know what I want but I don't want to go out to get it.

If anyone wants to stop by with a giant, juicy steak....feel free. I like mine medium rare and prefer steamed veggies and a sweet potato for my sides. And make the steak huge. Like Hulk huge.

JDeere 07-12-2015 06:42 PM

Popcorn chicken with sweet kernel corn and biscuits with an ice water to drink

Gemme 07-12-2015 09:07 PM

Due to the late hour, I only had soup. Progresso's Light Chicken and Roasted Veggies.

Then I opened the bag of Cheetos. And my last Coke.

Oy.

MsTinkerbelly 07-12-2015 09:26 PM

We had crispy chicken salads.

Nom nom

Canela 07-12-2015 11:41 PM

Family and friends over to swim in the cement pond...

We barbequed...omgee!
Chicken, Fajitas, Pork Steaks, Sausage
Potato Salad, Chips, Pico de Gallo with chunks of avocado in it, crazy good, handmade corn tortillas...

Oh yeah, and agua de sandía, a watermelon fruit drink....

Yeah baby, that's how we got down tonight...

C0LLETTE 07-13-2015 12:30 AM

Salmon steaks on the BBQ, corn and a nice simple salad...was quite delicious even if about half the fish stuck to the bbq grill..

Jesse 07-13-2015 11:14 AM

I am making a giant bowl of summer panzanella. I am using a blend of kale, spinach and arugula, roasted chick peas, artichokes, capers, roasted grape tomatoes, seeded cucumber, raw asparagus, Vidalia onion, radishes, fresh basil, shredded parmesan cheese and some chunks of toasted 5 grain Italian bread. I made the dressing with roasted garlic, basil, olive oil, lemon juice and zest. Sure this will last me for a couple of days.

Gemme 07-13-2015 06:06 PM

I had a small salad of baby arugula and cherry tomatoes with light fiesta ranch and a bowl of spaghetti with garden delight rotini and turkey crumbles. Black cherry frozen Greek yogurt for dessert.

JDeere 07-13-2015 07:03 PM

Grilled bbq chicken breasts, brussel sprouts and fried potatoes.

Bèsame* 07-13-2015 08:15 PM

Fresh homemade Alfredo Sauce over Arkansas tomatoes and zucchini , on top of Angel hair pasta and shrimp.

I impressed my Mom!

SoulShineFemme 07-14-2015 05:51 AM

It's going to be hot tonight so I think I will do tomatoes stuffed with chicken salad and some veggies and dip.

cinnamongrrl 07-14-2015 06:34 AM

Last night I got my typical every 2 week meal...take away frozen pizza...

I went with the new favorite spinach/garlic thin crust.

I also had the rest of a po' boy I got when I went out to eat with a friend the day before. Idk what that sauce was but oh my goodness...sooo hot and tasty!

Water to drink per usual...

Klondike bar for dessert (dark chocolate YUM!)
