I really love old school music. The music I listened to when I came out and was out and about takes me back to a time in my life when I was carefree, beautiful, loved, sexy and confident. This was (for me) a time in my life when everything was in reach and there for the taking...(lol). While I still feel this way most days(!) It has been a minute...Please don't judge me as I'm considerably older than that time of my life...but I am enjoying the revisit.

I heard this on Spotify yesterday and it transports me to myself at 24. I'd just started my one and only long term relationship (16yrs). I felt gorgeous, sexy, loved, confident and on top of the world! Same year I started the radio gig...more on that another time...lol

A few years later, still in my early thirties, I was introduced to Goth, and whilst I'm not sure I have one particular favourite song of that type, this one is certainly one that I love a lot as it has the emotion and energy that a lot of the better 'up' Goth songs did. Oh Esme nha Marie, the first song took me way back, thank you for sharing it! The 2nd one I'd heard before but didn't know it well... both conjure up such great feeling...the "emotional rush" you mentioned, yes!

I'm reminded when I hear this song and her singing in such a low key is
"Dam, I love me some deep butch voices, honey"...but I thoroughly enjoy this song no matter, lol...these ladies got me thru so so much back in the day!

I remember this song...I remember I had these high platform shoes that were the coolest thing, with heart cutouts in the heels...Palazzo pants and a tiny halter that had this laced up back. Before I knew anything about corsets...ay Dios...I was a disco queen and I am feeling it right now with this song honey (snap)...lol

This song I was banned from listening to on the radio, in the car, with family...My uncle told my grandmother it was very "nasty" and so they said I could NOT listen to this music. But--all my friends were listening to it, dancing and being all "sexy" and I felt like a dork because I really wanted to...I did of course...I do what I want...ever since I was a little young thing...lol...
