Crazy Ass Fun Recipes

LOVE THIS...So it's nasty looking, but quite tasty I'm sure...

A great idea for a Halloween party or some good old plain fun. Imagine taking this to a party with folks who have kitties...

I'm going to make this...M-M-M- Good...

INGREDIENTS:

1 package German chocolate cake mix
1 package white cake mix
2 packages instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (12 ounce) package vanilla sandwich cookies
3 drops green food coloring
1 (12 ounce) package tootsie rolls

DIRECTIONS:

·Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).

· Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.

· Crumble the white sandwich cookies in small batches in a food processor (scrape often to get every little piece) or by hand. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup.

· Measure 1/4 cup of cookie crumbs and add a few drops of green food coloring to it. Mix with a fork or shake everything in a jar.

· Crumble the room temperature cakes into a large bowl. Toss gently with half of the remaining white cookie crumbs and enough chilled pudding to moisten (not soak) the crumbs.

· Put the cake, cookie crumbs, and pudding mixture into a brand new, clean litter box.

· Heat three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and until they're soft and pliable. Pinch the ends so they are no longer blunt and look convincingly like what cats put in the litter box. Repeat this process with as many Tootsie rolls as you'd like to add, microwaving them in batches of three. Reserve three for the final garnish.

· Bury the shaped Tootsie rolls in mixture and sprinkle them with the other half of the cookie crumbs.

· Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top. This will mimic real litter, where many of the grains are often blue or green.

· Heat and shape the last three Tootsie rolls and scrape them on top of the cake. One can hang over the side of the litter box. Sprinkle them lightly with cookie crumbs.

ok, maybe it's just because i am still on my first cup of coffee, and haven't eaten yet....

but i just don't know if i could get past the presentation to even try it, which is saying a lot because it does contain chocolate, ya know? :|

Maybe if i didn't see it presented...maybe if someone brought me some in a bowl....

maybe i'm over-thinking this morning.

yay for this thread...i love manipulating flavor dynamics. one of my favorite things to make is pasta tossed in a blueberry pesto. here is the recipe for the pesto...
ingedients:
•4 garlic cloves
•3/4 cup pine nuts (1/4 pound)
•2 cups grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
•2 cups grated Pecorino Romano
•3 cups packed basil leaves
•1 cup fresh blueberries
•2 cups packed flat-leaf parsley leaves
•5 tablespoons olive oil
preparation:
Pulse garlic in a food processor until finely chopped, then add nuts, cheeses, a large handful of basil and parsley, and 1 teaspoon pepper and process until chopped. Add remaining basil and parsley one handful at a time, pulsing after each addition, add blueberries until finely chopped. With motor running, add oil and blend until incorporated.
