Thank you for sharing this Authors Birthday, It was one of my favorite books when I was first seeking who I was, and what I have become! And hero yes, but we are not the enemy.

The first time i read "Stone Butch Blues" i was fascinated. It was not long after i figured out that i was queer, and before my first gf. i ate it up, and wondered if i'd ever find one of those elusive butches.
The second time was years later, and i was involved with a stone butch.... i cried while reading it, imagining my butch in the same situations. |
Reading Stone Butch Blues was a life changer for me - it was simply amazing. Meeting Leslie was equally wonderful. Ze shimmers with power and strength. It was at a Youth Summit in Maine - it was like 105 degrees - and cause we were in Maine there was no AC - yet Leslie stood and talked and met every youth, shook every hand, listened to every question and story. Truly awe inspiring!
