Concussions...?

Has anyone ever had one?

What do you know about them? Experiences...?

I've got one now, and it's absolutely horrible. I'm actually kind of scared :(

How do you know that you have one? If you were diagnosed by a medical professional what part of "you shouldn't be alone, this evening," did you not understand? If this is conjecture on your part, call a friend, and have them take you to ER. Its not something to take lightly.

Liam is absolutely spot on about this.
DO NOT LAY DOWN. DO NOT TAKE ANY MEDS. UNLESS YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN SEEN BY A D.O. OR M.D. FOR THIS SERIOUS CONDITION.

THIS IS NOTHING TO TAKE LIGHTLY.

SEE. A. DOCTOR. NOW.

I did have one, it was horrible and definitely scary at times.
The concussion I had impacted me pretty significantly for about 6-9months.

I had short term memory loss and difficulty focusing; I would forget things and sometimes struggle to find the "right word".
I saw a neurologist who ordered lots of tests.

Everything righted itself after my concussion, but it took much longer than I could have imagined. And it was very frustrating at times.

I concur with everyone else who has posted: if you haven't already - seek medical care and make sure you have someone stay with you at your home to help you for a few days.

Try to keep a log of how you are feeling (symptoms, issues); it will prove useful if you are still feeling 'off' after a week or two.

Also, be prepared to advocate for yourself medically and seek specialist care if you're worried.

Most providers will diagnose a concussion, but few Primary Care physicians will order expensive neurological tests like MRIs/MRAIs/EEGs.

Get lots of rest, drink lots of water and rely on your loved ones to help you out for awhile. Feel better soon.
