A,B, C's of Giving
well, its getting close to that time of year when we Give to the people in our lives. Lately I have noticed a trend in our thoughts, that life has become too consumeristic, too over the top, too complex. I gave thought to what we would give if we couldnt use money...and wondered if maybe we could do a thread on the ABC's of Giving...I will start with A and whoever wants to follow can go with B and the next person with C....offering ideas of what we could give that wouldnt cost us a dime...
Ask someone to spend the holiday in my home so they wouldnt be alone... B anyone? |
oh come on! Someone has to chime in..ok I will do the B too
Be willing to take someone out driving who is learning how to drive, so they can get practice in now, who wants to do C? |
Caroling with a group at a hospital, VA, or long term care facility.

Drive to an Occupy and hand out hot chocolate.
|
E..............everyone donates a library book to Occupy in their 'hood, a night in a tent, a letter to your elected reps
Everyone knows everyone is connected |
Fashion balloon animals for a child's entertainment.
|
Food delivery for the homebound.
|
Give out blankets to the homeless.
|
Give back massages to your honey when they are stressed out
|
Help someone learn to fish.
|
Invite singles over for a few hours of board/card games, talking so we all dont spend the holidays alone.
|
Join or start a group that knits/crochets warm winter caps for the homeless.
|
Just be kind, to everyone.
|
Kindness - pass it on :)
|
Leash up a dog by volunteering to walk dogs at your local no-kill shelter.
|
Make Pizzelles for the nursing home, for staff and residents!
|
N:Giving a new mother an opportunity to NAP
|
Offer a kind word, gentle touch or joyous smile to your fellow man/woman.
|
Paint little kids faces and watch those eyes light up when they look in the mirror and smile.
|
Quiet time, just to listen for a friend.
