This is my strangest list of resolutions ever, but...
:rrose: Take care of my mother through spring, and make sure she has the care she needs if and when she goes home....basically see her through her end of life. :rrose: Get my son through it too. :rrose: Finish editing and publish a book that my son has been nagging me about for a couple years now. :rrose: Stick with my journey to living healthier....eat right, and incorporate more exercise. :rrose: Stay open to the possibility of love...and never settle for anything less than what I truly want and need. |
I always thought New Years Resolutions were meant to be broken? Not this year for me, I'm going to work on things rather than saying I will do them.
1. I will work harder to quit smoking. 2. I will work on eating better. 3. I will work on getting into shape either with a trainer or on my own. 4. I will work on getting out of the house and not being a hermit. 5. I will work on doing things for myself and not as much for everyone else (then I'll have more time for my things) I think that is a good start.... to be continued... |
1. I will meet one new person a month
2. I will write four hours a week 3. I will get 250 drums together for the Conference 4. I will write a killer key note address 5. I will not to be so nervous about being a key note speaker |
I'm with Strappie about just working on things..
I'm gonna do my best to lose 48 pounds and reach my goal weight of 200. Then if I reach my weight goal, try to lose 25 more,if not just do my best to maintain what I have. I want to just be an all around healther person,if I can get some stablity to my back I would like to go back to work full time. I will definatly get an new fur kid cause Rowdy hasnt been the same since her buddy passed over. Be open to more of meeting people that I have been,im not a hermit but just very comfy with things at home. I may buy a cam corder with cd card so I can load stuff in my puter or find a way to do that so I can send pics to peeps who want one and put some in the gallorie. I will keep my diabetis in check and more carefull of what I eat. |
I Love this!!!
1) Continue with healthier lifestyle, lower cholesterol, quit smoking, lose excess weight. 2) Spend more time with family, REALLY be there for them. 3) Quit being as much of a hermit--get out, make friends, meet new people 4) Hit at least 30 amusement parks and rollercoasters this spring/summer Ride until I'm half sick with the excitement and thrill 5) Be as nice to myself as I am to others, actually take the time to make myself happy 6) Be actively engaged with my work, life, friends and family--turn autopilot off for a year, see how that goes 7) Take one of the 'dream' vacations, Alaska, Machu Picchu, Greece, Ireland--one of them will happen this year. 8) Continue to do what makes me feel happy, hiking with the dog, volunteering, making/burning candles, needlework, crochet, cooking for others, falling out of kayaks, dancing in the rain 9) Quit smoking, 'looking' for a relationship, being hard on myself, being hard on others, letting trash fly (uncensored) out of my mouth Good start, anyway......may have to refine and redefine later |
I don't really have resolutions so to speak, but rather, I just have things I will try to do...if I do them; fantastic, if I don't; I will not be hard on myself about it.
I will continue to keep a positive attitude, and I will continue to be thankful for all the wonderful things that happen in my life! I would love to stay in better touch with my friends all over the country. I will continue to get stronger and be ready for football season to start in April. I will continue to communicate honestly and openly. I will continue to do my best every day at school and try to finish with a perfect GPA! :goodluck: |
I usually don't make any but this year I have two:
I made a pinky promise with a good friend that we're quitting smoking together And I'm going to stop dropping the F bomb every time I turn around Wish me luck! :bunchflowers: |
I too have several areas to work on:
1. Now that my son and I both have diagnoses of ADD, I need to turn my home into an ADD-friendly environment and to ensure that he has the modifications he needs at school. It was a shock and a stress to learn this, but at least we can help ourselves. 2. I need to rejoin WeightWatchers, with its new program, and get serious about losing weight and getting in shape. 3. I need to not be so avoidant when it comes to my career, and look for a better position. 4. I need to practice far more self-care: breathing, relaxation, yoga, grooming and pampering. 5. I need to have my dream trip (to Russia) planned out for the summer of 2013 by the end of the year-savings going, any tickets and visas I can apply for done, make it more real than just "one day". This is my 50th birthday gift to myself. 6. Related to that, I need to be far more fluent in Russian by the end of the year. I will do this through my workbook and other reading/audio materials. 7. I want to look more seriously for a home, and get out of the apartment. But I won't jump into a house just to move. 8. I want to attend more cultural events-plays, lectures, art exhibits. This includes visiting museums I've wanted to see "one of these days" 9. I need to meet more people, not specifically to date but just to have friends. I tend to isolate too much. 10. I need to attend Reunion and be far more outgoing than I was this year! |
I want my health to be as good as it can be. That means eating better and more exercise.
I have gotten bad about eating, and I am a stalemate losing weight because of it, even with my stumach surgery. So, the first resolution includes dropping more weight. I havent gained any back but I am not dropping anymore. I need to be more financially set. I have a good start in January. Some things are happening to make this possible! I really really really want to make it to the reunion. I want a larger garden this year. LOTS of seeds...and manure...lol |
My Goal for 2012is to keep on keepin on!

2012 Resolutions
I usually try to stay away from making New Year's Resolutions and the truth is I am afraid to put myself out there. No more fear. Saying "yes" to myself.
|
To get my new passport
stay up with the gym |
To stop trying to fix what can't or won't be fixed. It's exhausting, and I'm tired of always feeling like a failure.
