DIY and Budget Weddings
Well, let's break the news... I'm getting married. :) Someone managed to get this awkward, fumbly, heart-worn woman pinned down long enough to put a ring on it. :wine:
In any case, we're doing a small wedding in a neo-50s and slightly hipster style. I'm doing masses of decorations and going mental over it! I have a handmade dress, oh so excited, but I want to ask you folks... ... if you're married, what made your wedding special? And what's your advice for an awesome marriage? ... if you ever wanted to be married, what would you do to make it special? ... if you're not a fan of marriage, why is that, and what would be the one thing that would change your mind? |
We had our wedding beside the pool in my Mom's backyard.
I will always thank God that she was well enough that day to be with us. Advice for an awesome marriage...nurture the "us" that is the center of your relationship. There are a 101 daily distractions...kids, jobs, family, friends, drama...etc. If you take time to nurture each other, nothing can come between you. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding (f) |
Advice for an awesome marriage!
Jack and I have been together going on 9 years but were friends way before that. I can tell you that marrying someone you truly enjoy spending time with as a best friend has been key to our success! Laugh a lot! Fight fairly! Snuggle often! Make time for alone stuff! (autonomy is good!) Do some of your hobbies together! Learn one another! Congrats to you! |
im not a contender o' marriage. mostly because i can't make it stick and stay.
but i adore those that can. i'm in awe, actually. if i were made that-a-way, i'd agree wit' what has been written: fight fair, listen a lot, do it alone once in a while, snuggle often, kiss a lot. |
