It all began because I needed some Clorox, so I hopped in the truck and drove to the neighborhood Family Dollar. Once I got in there I remembered that I still needed to get Miss Sadie some stuffed babies for Christmas. She already has an entire cooler (that's her toy box until we need it for camping) full of babies, but she still gets new ones to unwrap every year. $42 later...
Clorox- an unbelievable $4.00 for a gallon. That's just crazy but I refuse to buy the store brand of bleach, it's not the same strength.
A small thing of laundry soap because I need to do a load tonight. I ran out of my homemade soap and do not feel like making it tonight. - $5.35 (This is one reason I make my own)
A pack of new scouring pads for the kitchen and bathroom - $1.55 for an 8 pack
2- Awesome swivel bottle brushes for $1 each for cleaning my canning jars and some of my juicer parts.
1- role of cheap wrapping paper for Sadie's presents -$1
3- battery operated flickering candles for the 3 front house windows. -$1 each (That's the extent of my decorating. Oh wait, I did change my computer Windows background to Christmas decorations)
5- presents for Sadie. 4 stuffed and one rope toy - $1 each. Oh and a red sparkly Christmas bow collar for her too. It's actually a red sequined headband & bow for women, but it works fine for this too. - $2
2- 12 packs of Cokes that were on sale. I forget how much they were, I think 2-for-$9
A perfect sized square tin that I can fit 4 of the regular altoid sized tins into, all of which make up my fire box which holds my t various tinders and fire starting implements for camping, bugging out or what have you. -$1
A round tin of Danish style butter cookies- $2
Invisible tape- $1.65
The secret to these so called dollar stores is either stay out of them completely or stick to buying only the dollar items, which I did not do today.

Oh well.
