New behavior doesn't happen without a reason. Have you told your vet? Urinary and bladder issues often lead to marking behavior.

Yep, I am wondering if it is a urinary tract infection (I mean, that is what happens to humans when they get one, right? They pee a lot). Too, with having a wet diaper up against him all day, that would only make it worse.

I'd check into it.
