Cirque du Soleil cancels multiple shows in N.C.
Cirque du Soleil, the enormously popular Canadian art/acrobatic troupe, announced Friday it has joined multiple entertainers who are canceling shows and concerts in North Carolina in protest of that state's new law widely condemned as anti-LGBT people.
In statements posted on Facebook and Twitter, Cirque du Soleil said it "strongly believes in diversity and equality for every individual and is opposed to discrimination in any form."
Cirque du Soleil said the North Carolina law is "an important regression to ensuring human rights for all," according to the statement.
When I first had the pleasure and opportunity to see my first Cirque du Soleil performance in Vegas, my very soul was nourished. Could not stop replaying the images over and over in my head for days and weeks. However, a few of stills reminded me of a Dado painting.
