Yes, canned pudding was used in military rations around the world as in the early 1900's example shown below, though most people canned their own commercially tinned foods for the retail market were available early on for those who could afford them, in the 50's and 60's canned puddings were common in both Brittish, and to a lesser extent American upper middle class and wealthy families especially around the holidays, snack pack puddings were a popular and not too terribly expensive school sack lunch item in the 70's, though they were more of a luxury then than they are today now that they are packed in plastic to make them shelf stable.
Canned pudding is still available today but much of it in the U.S. is put up in in large cans and sold to diners and congregate care places like hospitals and nursing homes or institutions such as jails and prisons. However it is still available retail in more "family friendly" size cans too, though in shops it can be difficult to source - is easier to find from restaurant supply and other simillar online retailers.

You can also find specialty and ethnic canned pudding in brick and mortar stores or online. In order from left to right - Wheat pudding, rice pudding, bread pudding, nutritional formula.
Freeze dried pudding to which you just add water to whip up a tasty snack is available.
