Good morning kitchen peeps,
Oh my, Scoote!
Rhubarb is one of the most delish foods of the gods.
It is the first thing we can harvest in the garden, so as a cook, i celebrate spring with the feast of rhubarb.
It grows in stalks, with huge leaves. The stalks are reddish, with a bit of green on them. You pick them when they are red mostly.
Cut into chunks, and bake into a pie, just like you would apple.
FYI, never ever add chocolate to rhubarb!
And this is a sidenote from a chocoholic. i can add chocolate to most everything *grin*
Now on to breakfast:
Easy morning for me, as i have to head out the door shortly, so i will set a few things out, and i am sure Jo or Zimmy or maybe Mrs Strutt will add the finishing touches. Oh how i miss Musicman's offerings.
Breakfast today is:
Vanilla yogurt with sliced strawberries, homemade chocolate chip muffins, apple juice, nicely aged old cheddar cheese chunks and a last little treat while it's still fresh, some rhubarb pie.
Coffee in the mega carafe this morning - this gal is taking two servings for herself LOL (it's that kind of a start)
Becca - you stopped by after dinner last night to say Damon had his first day of work, but well, how did it go? Inquiring mind here!
