I'm giving a shout out to..... Jimmie Kimmel, who recently devoted a portion of his TV show to make a political statement in support of Healthcare coverage accessibility and affordability for every single person. He and his wife just gave birth to their baby boy Billie, born with a heart condition that he can die from. I was born with a heart condition which didn't manifest itself until the age of 9; but there was no such thing as a cardiologist back when I was 9 years old. Even today, cardiology doctors still don't really know all the outcomes of my particular genetic heart issues, but I know how hard it is to get health care with my condition. Even my employer sponsored health insurance won't cover my condition because it's considered "pre-existing"....essentially making it impossible to have consistent care and definitely an astronomical expense I have never been able to bear on my own.
Sooooo, anyway, huge thanks to Jimmie Kimmel and his thoughtful humanity. Way to go!
