My first cousin Richie and I share the same birthdate, except my cousin Richie is (or rather, was --- he passed away some years ago now) 10 years older than me. I was born in 1959, Richie was born in 1949.

Richie's parents were my aunt and uncle, my dad"s sister (Margaret) and her husband Karl. They owned a whole mountain over in Idaho. Uncle Karl and his son's, my cousin's. Richie and Nate, and their close pal Jesse, were loggers....they logged the timber on their mountain property. Years ago, Richie, Nate and Jesse formed their own rockabilly band and played in mountain tavern's as a hobby. My cousin Richie was the 3-man band's lead singer and guitarist. Cousin Nate played bass, Jesse on the drums.

Anyway, for as long as I remember, cousin Richie would call our family telephone number, on our birthday, and he'd do his Elvis impersonation. He always had his hair styled and cut just like Elvis Presley, and he'd pretend that he was my admirer and future boyfriend and sing songs by Elvis to me.

Ooooh, those were the days!!!
