I'm so sorry to hear about your dear friend. Lupus is, sadly, different for each patient, so it makes it harder to find effective treatment...and sometimes takes years of learning to cope with it. My heart goes out to her and her supporting friends and family. I highly recommend signing up for the national and local Lupus support groups and their regular, Lupus specific news letters. I have found several articles that help me talk in depth to my providers. (I too have suffered years from the shingles. I'm so sorry!)

And my hint for the day...don't get into a batch of Stinging Nettle weeds, as Lupus makes it harder to heal from skin damage.
