I don't know what I'd say that my favorites in childhood were, because for the most part I watched what was on, and I haven't really watched them since. I could mention a few more recent ones, though.
RWBY and
Steven Universe for ongoing ones. For finished ones,
Bodacious Space Pirates (which is actually not a fanservice anime, despite the name, and also has actual Not-Subtext Gay in it; would recommend),
Madoka (I only watched the original anime, not any of the movies), and... there's one more I really like but I'm actually kind of ashamed of liking, so only if you promise you won't judge
