while I was taking out the trash...
I watched a distant lightening storm in the skies to the right... and beautiful stars to the left. Then all around the rose bushes, there were fireflies!!

Earlier today, while standing on my deck, I watched a Momma Mallard duck come swooping in and land in the overgrown Ivy beds downstairs... she quickly tucked herself in like she knew where she was going. Then all you could see of her was just a little bit of her tail. The rest was all hidden by Ivy. I was on the phone with my best friend and got such a tickle out of the duck's tail sticking out - wiggling and fluffing her feathers. We BET she's got baby duckies!!! What a great place to hide them!! Moving day is soon... I won't get to see her babies... but it really tickled me to see Momma protecting her nest. I've never ever seen a duck next in Ivy beds before.
