We have a full-size rough collie (think Lassie), named Lily. We also have 4 cats, who she loves, sleeps with and "counts" several times a day. One of those kitties is Mabel....a solid black long-haired girl with green eyes.

I was making breakfast this morning when I heard Lily getting too rough with a kitty...a hiss or two and a few ticked-off sounding meows made me yell "Lily, leave them alone!"

Lily walked into the living room looking contrite.

A minute later, Mabel followed her in...paused, then swatted Lily's tail, and rolled over in front of her, showing her belly. Lily dove on her, grabbing the cat in her mouth (but not biting down) and growled. Mabel hissed, swatted at the dog's face. I told Lily "enough". She let go, sat down, looked contrite again.

Mabel looked at me. Stood up, walked over to Lily...swatted her in the face, rolled over belly up and wiggled.

I let the dog grab her. Didn't mean to interrupt the game.
