Default Epic Turkish television series

Resurrection: Ertugrul
Dirilis: Ertugrul (original title)

This is one of the best television series I have ever watched on Netflix. It's in Turkish with English subtitles. IMHO it is as good as Game of Thrones and has a worldwide following.

The storyline and characters depict real-life heroes from Turkish history. The story follows the lives, beliefs, and migrations of the Kayi nomadic tribe who's faith and conquests led to the establishment of the Ottoman Empire.

One of the things I like most about this series is that it does a magnificent job of sharing with the world the beauty of the Muslim faith, how they think, what inspires them and what they had to face to build their empire. In their own words and from their viewpoint. Culturally rich, great storyline and acting. You can't help but fall in Love with the characters. I'm moved by the purity of heart, love, tenderness, faith, and fierceness of these beautiful people.

I have a new heartfelt respect for Islam from hearing their story. Something I feel is much needed in this time that I believe will sadly (and embarrassingly) be referred to as "The Cretin Uprising" in U.S. history 'books.
