A not so funny thing began to happen to me, about two weeks ago. My legs have been killing me and when I went to shower one night while back, I noticed I had these big splotchy purplish, dark blue bursts deep in my calves. There are some too, down by the soles of my feet and around my ankle area. My legs are still killing me, but I made an appt with my primary physician to see if these splotches are broken blood vessels or veins bursting in my legs.

But I keep walking up and down stairs at work. I also go for 40 minute walks on my lunch hour, after eating a small salad for lunch.

I also walk in the evening, in the nearby fields, which have walking paths around them. I don't walk very fast, but I do walk at a pace which sometimes can leave me in a sweat and so, when that happens, I just take a little rest and slow my pace down.

I've also been lifting leg weights with my legs. It's those little weights that fit around your ankles, maybe 2-3 pound weights. I often practice trying to lift each leg when I'm on my back in bed, but I can't do it for long or for a long time. I just keep practicing that tiny little exercise, so I can help my legs get stronger? I can't do it for long because it hurts my lumbar area, but I try to do it anyway. My goal is to build up my endurance with this type of small scale weight training.

That's all I got tonight, except to say that it gives me courage to break from my routines when I hear nycfem talk about breaking up her workout routines.
