It's not an app and is limited in what it can measure but I think a pedometer would work better with walking accessories because you can clip it to a belt or slide it in your pocket and you customize it to your specific gate.

It's the one I got and it's great. I can see my steps, my caloric burn and the distance walked each day. Most of the features reset at midnight every day so you can keep each day separate. Also, compared to Fitbits and whatnot, it's crazy affordable. I got mine through Amazon.
