Here's an update about the Bus Pass renewal:

I received an email from the Bus Agency, alerting me that they got the Unemployment office document yesterday. So I went down to their office and showed them the email; handed over my expired card, then they transferred the funds I had on my expired card to the new card, plus I handed over my debit card to add more funds on top of what I had already. Now I'm good to go, next time I need to catch a bus or train or trolley.

That was a very quick turnaround, handling my expired bus pass issue. Ordinarily, it can be an arduous and time consuming process.

So I view my bus pass issue as one positive outcome during this public health crisis. When I went downtown, I noticed that most major building projects were making good use of ample parking to get their projects completed before due dates.

I noticed hardly any traffic, but State Patrol and County Sheriffs were out in force, policing roads and drivers who think they won't get caught breaking the speed limit, etc. I passed three State Troopers on my way back home and they had individuals pulled over. They were masked and gloved and even had emergency cones out, redirecting traffic to other lanes, so they could implement the 6-foot distance rule.

When they say, Keep Your Distance: they're not joking around.

I'm guessing some drivers got some hefty fines today, maybe even their license to drive revoked.
