Our family had a rather large acreage. We has cattle, a big garden and an orchard and my mother even reserved space for her flower garden. Because of that, we had very little time for toys because our responsibilities on the farm came first. But....

Mom and dad bought a slide and swing set, we each had a bicycle, but as for personal toys, we each only had a few.

I had dolls. Little dolls, big dolls, rag dolls. My grandmother bought an ancient crib, it was wooden, and I kept it on my side of the closet (I shared a bedroom with my only living sister) and inside the crib is where all my dolls lived safely.

I loved all the dolls I had back then. Each doll was very special to me.
