Bread and butter – lots of it, homemade! J is going out of town for the weekend so she brought me some to tide me over till she gets back as a nice surprise. I'm particularly impressed because this is white and there's a lot less room for margin of error with white, especially plain white, bread. Actually with many of the dark breads you don't even have to knead the dough. Anyhow it is the best home baked bread I've ever had in my 5+ decades of living. And that speaks a lot of her talent because this is only her third attempt ever at making bread and her very first making white. I've been to county fairs where women who'd been baking for decades and decades won ribbons and still after all the rave reviews didn't turn out bread like this. Though even if it had been terrible it would have been good to me because it was so thoughtful of her to think of me before heading out of town. I'm so fortunate to have such a nice daughter-in- law.
