It doesn't sound that hard to find out his party affiliation. Just get me the name and state the Federal judge worked. I live for research.
For many East of the Rockies, there was (not sure about any continuation) a judge might be shared by different jurisdictions. I know it is still in use on the Navajo Reservation.
