I heard a story about decaf today on the Marketplace podcast. It seems around 2007, they developed a better way to separate the caffeine from coffee beans. So it no longer has that chemical aftertaste. Since then, more people have started drinking decaf, so now the coffee growers are willing to sell better beans for decaf processing than they were before. So decaf coffee is getting better all around.
