Default Kendrick Lamar - The Pop Out Juneteenth Concert on the West Coast

Be aware: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE.

Beautiful. Love throughout the night. Kendrick brought in the OGs: Bloods and Crips including fathers, sons, daughters and mamas. Kdot brought them together and had them dancing with each other on stage. Reminded me of the Million Man March.

The music. Kdot has been compared to Shakespeare and I ain't here to take anything from him, but of all the English writers, he brings to mind Charles Dickens (his examination of poverty and its impact on society) and Harold Pinter (his observation on power and control). But Lamar reminds me most of Toni Morrison and James Balwin with his truth-telling no matter whom it hurts (it can hurt me, you, or your mama and he don't even care).

And Drake (wop, wop, wop, wop, wop).... just call it a day and give it up, bruh.

Love this concert. "California knows how to party."
