Default Dog food warning - AND, Brittany's fine

We finally figured out the source of Brittany's tummy problem; I had accidentally bought her the high protein dog food instead of the regular. The labels for Purina One are very similar, and I had ordered it delivered by Kroger, so I did not have a chance to closely inspect the bags at the store.

I told my sister about the problems Brittany was having, and she said the same thing happened to my niece's dog. Her vet explained that it happens all the time when people get the high protein version of their dog food. (And hers was Pedigree, not Purina One.)

So we threw out the high protein food, got the right food, and started giving it to her in small and then ever-increasing amounts along with her "sick" food (rice in chicken broth, pumpkin, egg). For a few days now she has been completely back on her regular food with no problems, and she's had a few small Pup-peroni pieces as rewards, and she's had a couple of half bananas. She's doing just fine.

I really want to spread the word about that high protein food, though. There may be some hard-working dogs who need it, but it seems like it makes an awful lot of dogs sick.
