I used to travel, too, before my knees got so bad. I usually traveled with one other, but I often traveled alone. My favorite trip with a partner was to the island of St. John. We camped on the beach in the National Park for a week. My favorite trip with a friend was to London. I won tickets on the radio to fly there and meet Peter Gabriel and Sionead O'Connor (and see their concerts). My favorite trip alone was a drive up the east coast from Georgia to New Jersey (I think it was New Jersey) where I quickly ran out of all my remaining money in a casino and had to turn around and head back home. I made it about 10 days altogether on that trip, I think.
I have done some local-ish traveling with my bad knees lately, but nothing adventurous. These days I rent a mobile scooter. On my most recent trip to the beach I rented a mobile sand scooter! That was fun. I plan to do some more local-ish trips over the next year or so, and after my knee surgery I plan to do some more serious traveling.
Orema, may I ask, how long after your knee surgery was it before you felt capable of travel?

I would have waited 6 months because of my age. I think it would have been a quicker healing process had I been even 10 years younger.
Love the travel ideas, y’all.
