Yesterday, after last week’s round of medical tests in the nuclear medicine and radiology departments at my chosen hospital, the pharmacy filled two medicines my cardiologist ordered for me. One medicine helps with the severe chest pressure caused by my heart’s electrical issues in the upper chamber of my heart. The other medicine will supposedly keep me from having a stroke during the times that my hearts’ upper chamber is fielding serious electrical troubles: this medicine, Eliquis 5 mg tablet — 90 day supply, was billed against my Medicare policy for $2,184.49. I nearly had a ‘stroke’ when I saw the cost of that life saving medication.

Anyway, I’m here to light a few candles for myself and others who are navigating medical issues. May we all remain in the best of health possible. May our bank accounts not suffer such economic travesties. May our health care systems across our nation not succumb to the plundering of our best chance of survival during super serious assaults on our (…).
