Okay, so most folks around these music threads probably know how much I absolutely adore soundtrack scores, from composers like John Barry (Prendergast), John Williams, Rachel Portman, Ennio Morricone, and many, many more!! I, for one, believe that the world lost a wonderful, talented and inspirational composer when John Barry died in 2011. His music, from such beautiful and thoughtful films like Out of Africa, Somewhere In Time, Dances With Wolves, Midnight Cowboy and so many, many others have been internationally acclaimed and Oscar winning. He took a piece of my heart when he passed, as I have been an astute fan of his for more years than I can remember.

Here's what I'm listening to today, as Mr. Barry has been on my mind lately.

Hanover Street Soundtrack Suite (1979)

My Life Soundtrack Suite (1993)

Downtown Walker (1976)

Out of Africa Soundtrack Suite (1985)

The Music of Goodbye (Out of Africa, 1985) -- Al Jarreau and Melissa Manchester, composed by John Barry
