Sorry for the derail, folks...

Bit - the oven might be a simple fix. Ours was fritzy until the lower element caught fire one day (luckily we were in the kitchen when it happened). Bought the replacement element online for less than $20 and it was an easy replacement - couple screws. I think we still need to replace the upper element, but am holding off in hopes of a new macdaddy gas range for our Christmas prezzie!
