Stroke SymptomsSome of the signs and symptoms of a stroke may include sudden difficulty speaking or understanding speech, confusion, and numbness or weakness in the face or limbs (especially on one side of the body). Other symptoms associated with a stroke can include dizziness, loss of balance, and vomiting. In general, symptoms appear suddenly; often, multiple symptoms are present at the same time. Call 911 immediately if you suspect that you or someone else is having a stroke.
TIA and StrokeAlthough they are similar, a stroke and a TIA, or transient ischemic attack, are not the same. A stroke causes symptoms that last for at least 24 hours, while the symptoms caused by a TIA usually improve within 30 minutes. While a TIA is not as severe as a stroke, people who experience a TIA may be at a greater risk to have a stroke.
So I suffered both within a week, had I not known the signs and what to do
prior to the ER there was a great chance of suffiering a severe stroke,
and permanent paralaysis.
Knowledge is power.
