Default Necessity, who is the mother of invention...

Plato said it first, but I'm sure most of us have been in the position of needing something enough to fake it, make it, mickey mouse it...whatever the situation called for.

Let's hear your stories....

I'll start... I'm moving, and will be driving 1 teenager, 1 small dog and 4 cranky cats for 1300 miles, starting Thursday. If I put the cats in carriers one will drool herself to death from panic, and the other 3 will never speak to me again.

I got the idea to get one of those divider things that keeps dogs in the back of the SUV, right? Great idea...except they don't make them for regular cars and they don't make them for cats...so the spaces are way too wide to enclose the kitties. (And they also cost way too much, but that's another issue!)

With basically no time to figure out how to keep the kitties in the back seat, but free to roam, stretch and annoy each other...I headed to Home Depot. Gardening section....deer netting! It's lightweight, flexible, plastic...and won't scratch my car when we stretch it across behind the front seats and slam the back doors on it to hold it in place. Might look a little weird, but hey....for $14 I'm all set! Now all I need to do is find my pinking shears to trim what's left hanging outside!
