I call September the month of birthdeath.....my daughter was born on August 30th (close enough) and died on September 27th. My father was born on September 5th & died on September 30th.....
I was having an interesting discussion about death with a dear, dear friend...and I likened the death of one's child like being in a theatre.....and when one loses a child, You walk up the steps to the mezzanine level. Sure there may be a few others up there with You, but the majority of folks are down in the lobby....milling about....carrying on conversations with one another.
Losing a child takes a parent to a different level of understanding about death. It's a different flavor altogether than having lost a parent or cousin or uncle or grandparent.
(I'm not writing this for pity....truly. I'm really ok! <smile> I find death and grief intriguing, actually.)
