Fall is officially here and we are still in the 90's. ACK! We did get a little rain yesterday accompanied by a few thunder-boomers and a brilliant ( albeit short lived) light show! It was quite welcome, as we have had little to no rain in the past month.

The trees are changing earlier than usual, with many already dropping their leaves. We will be making a weekend drive along the Blue Ridge parkway soon. If we can't encourage the teen age boy to go visit nature with us, then perhaps we'll pack a lunch and a blankey and picnic somewhere near Lover's Leap!

It's hard to get into the "gather nuts for Winter" mindset, when it's still so hot out. Alas, it still has to be done, so I have been making my winterizing list and have begun checking junk off.
