Hairstyling is an art.

At an upscale salon you're paying for expertise, training (that most stylists go through monthly to stay current and trendy), products used (high end color etc) and treatment. Most salons do not charge different prices. Instead the menu is based on services. For instance, my haircut is usually $70.00 dollars, but if combined with coloring, it's slightly discounted. This works for both male and female clientele.

If you're looking for inexpensive pricing that is across board for all, try SuperCuts or another chain. Most of their stylists are proficient at simple doos.
