- log out, clear out your cookies, exit the browser and then log in
- ensure you check off "Remember Me?" button when you log in.

Firefox and I did all that before thinking about it as an issue

Didn't work.
But I succeeded at fully logging in when I tried to look at my profile and it took me to a "this is members-only area, please log in" page.
Guess everything all right
