(((((( morningstar)))))) ... I hear you on this honey....I've been single more than I've been partnered, and it does get lonely. And, yes, dogs are nice, but it sure isn't the same thing.

The one thing I'll say is that you ex is full of it...sounds like one of those nasty things that jerks say as they go out the door, trying to make themselves feel better. As hard as it is, always try to remember that nasty remarks and criticisms usually have more to do with the sender than the receiver.

I know that friends aren't the same as a partner....but you do have friends here.
