It's just not a big enough sample to be truly representative. I've had abusive partners. I know of a couple with an abusive partner and the couple has kids; they've been abused. I'm sure there are more.

My fear is that when bigger studies are done and the more accurate statistics are brought to light, people will jump on them as some kind of "proof" that lesbians can't be good parents--which will be really sad, since I suspect that abuse rates really are considerably lower in lesbian-parented families than in straight-parented families, even if they're not zero.
