I enjoy conserving energy! Electric, gas, water... yeah, partly because I like saving some money, but mainly because I do feel like I am contributing something in the way of my decreasing my carbon footprint as well as it just gives more of a sense of believing in social democracy.

It doesn't really take much more time to separate green waste from recycling and what can go in the trash and hell, our waste pick-up company gives us the cans for this! When I was working full time (sometimes more) it just wasn't that much more work to do if I organized my system to take care of this. Been doing this at same level since the 70's! And it matters! I am kind of happy about areas around here like San Francisco that have begun fining people for not doing this stuff. But, it just seems to me that people would want to do it. But, guess not. Hell, let the folks that don't pay more for pick-up service because it does cost the county more to pay the labor costs to have workers do the sorting.

I enjoy making my own compost too and chipping my branches and yard trimmings and using it for mulch. I have paid for my chipper at least twice now by doing this. And save on buying soil amendments with the composting. Plus, I have a kick-ass yard! Always getting compliments and it is a source of pride for me.

Obviously, I enjoy gardening and yard projects!
