The film documents The Paper Clip Project, started by 8th graders at the Whitwell Middle School in Tennessee who constructed a Children's Holocaust Memorial in a box car, donated and sent from Germany, which had been used to transport Jews to death camps. The box car was restored to hold artifacts and 6,000,000 paper clips collected by the children in memory of Jews killed by the Nazis. Paper clips were invented and worn by Norwegian Jews on their lapels in silent protest against the Third Reich. The paper clip collection quickly rose to 11,000,000 for all those killed during the Holocaust.
Since the beginning of The Paper Clip Project, paper clips have been sent from all over the world and the number today is around 30,000,000. What began as a study about prejudice turned into a global project that pays tribute and continues to remind us about the evils of hatred.
I have always been intrested in the project and now I'm going to finally enjoy seeing the film for the first time.

Interesting because I'm Jewish and have heard about this paper clip project in my Temple but its good to know that others learn of this tragedy too.
