Obama, contrary to popular belief doesn't have all that much power. The office of President only holds 1/3 of the power of government. The Congress and Judiciary are the other 2/3's, its set up that way....So for all the cavetching that happens, the President has only so much he can do, and only so much he is responsible for. Exactly Corkey and the sad thing is the majority go out and vote for the presidential election but much fewer come out to vote for other elected officials. I just remember a few years back all the Bush bashing that was going on like he had made all the laws rules and regulations and decisions all alone and by himself
