Sunday...
  • woke up to the alarm at 6:30 a.m. (which makes me up at that time both days this weekend....sigh)
  • threw on some clothes and jumped in the car
  • stopped for gas, and Starbucks
  • drove to the airport, arriving to pick up my gate pass at 9:15 for Rooster's 9:50 arrival
  • got told the plane was early and landing ....ummmm...now
  • run through terminal
  • encounter enormous line at security with a sign "wait from this point is 30 minutes"
  • get completely flustered and upset that my 13 year old son is on the other side of this 30 minute wait, wondering where I am
  • attract the attention of a (nice) TSA agent who strolls up and asks if I'm okay.....evidently my antsiness was a bit of a red flag (understandably)
  • explained the situation to her
  • she tells me that if I'll volunteer for the backscatter, she'll get me through faster
  • I agree
  • TSA looks at me naked
  • I get through security in under 10 minutes
  • run through the rest of the terminal
  • arrive at gate, out of breath, just as the last passengers (including Rooster) are walking off
  • give him embarassing hugs in public
  • buy him Chinese food in the airport (at 9:30 in the morning...ick...but that's what he wanted) because his asshat father neglected to feed him or buy him food for the plane
  • collected his suitcase, and my car
  • drove just under 2 hours home
  • relaxed a bit
  • went grocery shopping...still can't find a decent ham
  • bought chicken instead
  • discovered Rooster has eaten ham non-stop for the last week and is immensely relieved that we're not having it again
  • made fried chicken, corn on the cob and steamed broccoli for dinner
  • Scoote made the mashed potatoes
  • ate
  • made a little chicken salad for Scoote
  • made pineapple jello for Scoote (not sure if she likes that flavor, but we'll see)
  • unloaded and loaded the dishwasher
  • ate a bit more
  • relaxed and watched tv
